2015 Reflections from Magpies Coach Jordan McIntyre

Lovell

Coming into the season as the defending National Champions the expectations internally in 2015 were again very high, which they always are in NY. There were a lot of new faces in 2015, and the player turnover of around 30% presented a big challenge and the group really responded and worked well together. It was a successful regular season dropping just 2 games before the National Championship in October, including a couple of great trips to Ft Lauderdale & Chicago. Unfortunately, the National Championship weekend didn’t end as we’d all hoped, going 1-2 for the tournament and missing the Grand Final. A rough run with injuries & some really high quality opposition from a competition that’s getting better every year meant we couldn’t repeat the performance of 2014. Could not question the guys’ endeavor right throughout the year though, and another enjoyable season on and off the field. In a super effort, Marcus Jankie repeated as the club’s best and fairest & Adam “Ringo” Marr was our National Championship MVP in a breakout season.
